Marisa and I got a little shopping in one day on Regent and
Bond Streets, with a detour to Carnaby Street.
Carnaby St was fun to walk down. It still has many side
avenues full of interesting and independant boutiques and
is where all the 60's fashion originated.
We visited Liberty, a very beautiful dept store built in the 1920's
in the Arts & Crafts style, and Hamleys, a five story toy store
with everything imaginable.  There was a film crew out front
filming something to do with the latest Harry Potter movie
and interviewing random people on the street. I don't remember
if we bought anything that day, but we had a lot of fun looking
around.
Soon, it was time to go to tea, we had reservations a Claridges
in Mayfair, and it was wonderful!  We'd worn our sandles for
shopping that day, but changed into heels for tea, even tho we
had to lug them around all day! A harpist was playing in the
restaurant and everything was so delicious!  The staff treated
us like royalty and we were there almost two hours before we
realized it was time to go. Back to reality out on the street and
into the tube for the short ride home.  We always manage to hit
the tube right at the busiest time of the day for the evening
commute!
